Ortavia Jackson, also known as Wisdom, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She is a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by profession but considers herself a Poet by Life. She currently attends Christian Cultural Center under the leadership of Dr. A.R. Bernard Sr.
She is actively involved in the workings of various churches, and community affairs in Brooklyn. She has also done book readings, open mikes, facilitated workshops, motivational speaking, submitted work for various anthologies, and ministered at shelters and juvenile detention centers. She is currently the Editor for Psalmist Production’s online Poetry Salon. She was also a nominee for Poet of the year at the Kingdom Choice Awards in 2009/2010.
She adores the youth and believes that education should be paramount in their lives, so she started a tutoring company called “Reaching Beyond the Visible” tutoring service.
She is a self-published poet with a very modest cottage industry that gives her pride and joy. She has two books and writing her third. She thrives because of God’s grace and her poetry epitomizes her belief in Him. Her books are entitled; Divine Destiny through a journey call life, and Life By Wisdom, poetry for your body, soul, and spirit.
Her inspiration comes from The Book of Proverbs; its theme, as you know, is “wisdom.” Her poetry evolves from the thirst of seeking God’s wisdom, and not from man’s rationalization.
“Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore seek wisdom and in all your getting, get understanding” – Proverbs 4:7
